Since the beginning of September, corn prices have been moving sideways as the crop conditions in the world's two largest producers, the U.S. and Brazil, present contrasting outlooks. While the U.S. is expecting a bumper crop with harvest activities ramping up, the outlook for Brazil’s second corn crop—which typically accounts for over 70% of the country’s annual corn production—has worsened due to drought conditions.
According to Mr. Trần Ngọc Quang, Deputy Director of SFVN Investment Joint Stock Company, global corn prices are likely to remain in this fluctuating trend at least until mid-October, when the crop situation in Brazil becomes clearer.
