Gasoline Prices Surge, RON 95-III Exceeds 24,000 VND/Liter

According to the adjustment by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance, effective from 15:00 on March 21, gasoline prices have increased by over 700 VND per liter, and diesel oil prices have risen by 470 VND per liter.

Specifically:

  • E5 Gasoline: Increased by 720 VND/liter, now priced at 23,210 VND/liter.

  • RON 95-III Gasoline: Increased by 740 VND/liter, now priced at 24,280 VND/liter.

  • Diesel Oil: Increased by 470 VND/liter, now priced at 21,010 VND/liter.

  • Kerosene: Increased by 560 VND/liter, now priced at 21,266 VND/liter.

In this adjustment, the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Industry and Trade did not allocate or use the Stabilization Fund for most fuel types, except for a 300 VND/liter allocation for mazut oil.

In the previous adjustment (March 14), retail prices for fuel were slightly reduced for gasoline and increased for oil products. Specifically, gasoline prices were reduced by 10-20 VND/liter, while kerosene and diesel prices increased by 70-100 VND/liter.

Regarding electronic invoicing in the retail fuel business, as of March 15, the General Department of Taxation reported that 10,649 fuel stations have issued electronic invoices for each sale, up by 7,949 from December 1, 2023. There are about 15,756 retail fuel stations nationwide, leaving more than 5,100 still not implementing electronic invoicing.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has issued a notice that businesses failing to comply with electronic invoicing regulations by March 31 will face penalties. The General Department of Taxation has urged local tax departments to form inspection teams and enhance control over invoice issuance at retail fuel stations.
