The dollar index rose by 0.4% on Tuesday and reached a 1-1/2 week high, supported by the weakening of the euro due to Eurozone consumer prices rising at the slowest pace in 3-1/2 years. U.S. JOLTS job openings for August increased by 329,000 to 8.04 million, indicating a stronger labor market compared to the expected 7.693 million. The U.S. ISM manufacturing index for September remained unchanged at 47.2 from August, weaker than the expected rise to 47.5.

The December Silver Futures prices increased. The settlement price on October 1 was 31.742 USD/troy ounce, up 0.9% from the previous session. 

At the close of trading on October 1, the November Platinum Futures prices settled at 993.6 USD/troy ounce, up 0.94% from the previous session. 

The December Copper Futures prices recovered. The settlement price on October 1 was 4.589 USD/pound, up 0.79% from the previous session.
