The US Dollar index today rebounded from a three-week low, closing up 0.15% thanks to signs of strength in the US economy. The August retail sales report, released on Tuesday, unexpectedly rose by 0.1% compared to the previous month, stronger than the forecasted decline of 0.2%, prompting a short-covering rally for the dollar. Additionally, the stronger-than-expected August industrial production report, which increased by 0.9% compared to the previous month, also supported the dollar, marking the largest gain in six months.

The December Silver futures price decreased, with the settlement price on September 17 at $30.979 per troy ounce, down 0.5% from the previous session. 

The October Platinum futures price also fell, with the settlement price on September 17 at $982.8 per troy ounce, down 0.5% from the previous session.

The October Copper futures price decreased as well, with the settlement price on September 17 at $4.225 per pound, down 0.04% from the previous session.
