The Dollar Index sharply declined on Tuesday, hitting its lowest level in 13 months and closing with a 0.27% drop, amid strong expectations that the Fed will cut interest rates this September.
Survey data from the Conference Board released on Tuesday showed that U.S. consumer confidence in August surged to its highest level in six months, driven by optimism about the economic outlook. However, concerns over the U.S. labor market arose after the July unemployment rate increased to 4.3%, the highest level in nearly three years.
The December Silver Futures price saw a slight decrease. The settlement price on August 27 was $30.426 per troy ounce, down 0.09% compared to the previous session.
The October Platinum Futures price dropped significantly. The settlement price on August 27 was $962.8 per troy ounce, down 1.02% compared to the previous session.
The October Copper Futures price saw a slight increase. The settlement price on August 27 was $4.258 per pound, up 0.53% compared to the previous session.
