US Stock Market Situation
The US stock market rose on Wednesday despite data showing the economy is weakening ahead of the crucial June employment report on July 5. At the close, the S&P 500 Index was up 0.51% at 5,537.02 points. The Nasdaq Index increased by 0.88% to 18,188.3 points. Both indices set intraday and closing record highs during this session. Conversely, the Dow Jones Index fell by 0.06% to 39,308 points.
US Treasury Bond Yields Situation
The yield on the 10-year US Treasury bond continued to decline, reaching 4.355%.
Dollar Index Situation
The Dollar Index decreased by 0.38% to 105.34. The US dollar fell after data showed that private sector payrolls in June increased slightly less than expected, and initial jobless claims rose, indicating a cooling labor market.
Gold Situation
Global gold prices surged, with spot gold rising by $26.6 to $2,356.8 per ounce. Futures gold increased by $26.8 from the previous morning, reaching $2,365.4 per ounce.
Commodity Market Situation
On July 3, oil prices rose by approximately 1% following a larger-than-expected decrease in US oil inventories. Brent crude oil increased by $1.1, or 1.3%, to $87.34 per barrel. WTI crude oil climbed by $1.07, or 1.3%, to $83.88 per barrel.
