U.S. Stock Market Situation

The U.S. stock market continued to rise in Tuesday’s trading session as expectations grew that the Federal Reserve might cut interest rates in September. The S&P 500 index increased by 0.64%, closing at a record 5,667.2 points. The Nasdaq index rose by 0.2%, ending at 18,509.34 points. The Dow Jones index gained 1.85%, closing at 40,954.48 points.

U.S. Treasury Bonds Situation

The yield on 10-year U.S. Treasury bonds continued to decrease slightly, falling to 4.16%.

Dollar Index Situation

The Dollar Index continued to rise, up 0.04% to 104.25 points, as retail sales data in the U.S. proved to be stronger than expected.

Gold Situation

Gold prices reached an all-time high, with spot gold rising by $46.5 to $2,469.1 per ounce. Futures gold last traded up $44.7 from the previous session, reaching $2,473.6 per ounce.

Commodity Market Situation

At the end of the trading session yesterday, oil prices dropped by 1% due to concerns that the sluggish Chinese economy would reduce demand. Brent crude oil fell by $1.12, or 1.3%, to $83.73 per barrel. WTI crude oil dropped by $1.15, or 1.4%, to $80.76 per barrel.
