US Stock Market Situation: US Stocks Extend Gains

The S&P 500 index rose by 0.77%, closing at 5,473 points. The Nasdaq Composite index edged up by 0.95% to 17,857 points. Meanwhile, the Dow Jones index ended a four-session losing streak, increasing by 189 points, or 0.49%, to 38,778 points.

US Treasury Bond Situation

The yield on the 10-year US Treasury bond increased to 4.285%.

Dollar Index Situation

The Dollar Index stood at 104.9 points, down 0.24 points from yesterday. The USD had recovered over the past week, but this trend remains uncertain as various economic data indicate that US inflationary pressures have eased.

Gold Situation

Spot gold prices closed yesterday's session in the US down by $13.4 to $2,319.3 per ounce. In the Asian session this morning, gold prices reversed, increasing by $6 to $2,325.3 per ounce. August 2024 gold futures on the Comex New York exchange fell by $20.1, or 0.86%, to $2,329 per ounce.

Commodity Market Situation

WTI crude oil prices in the US rose by $1.88, or 2.4%, to $80.33 per barrel, the highest level since late April. Brent crude oil prices also increased by $1.63, or 2%, to $84.25 per barrel, also the highest level since April.
