Corn

Weekly EIA data showed ethanol production reaching 1.078 million barrels per day for the week ending December 6, an increase of 5,000 barrels per day from the previous week. Ethanol stocks were 355,000 barrels lower, at 22.648 million barrels. Ethanol exports decreased by 3,000 barrels to 123,000 barrels per day, while refinery input rose by 10,000 barrels per day to 883,000 barrels per day.


Ahead of Thursday's Weekly Export Sales report, analysts expect 1.1 to 1.9 million tons of corn to be sold for the 2024/25 marketing year for the week ending December 5. An additional 0-100,000 tons is projected for the 2025/26 marketing year.


Tuesday’s WASDE report showed a significant 200-million-bushel reduction in U.S. corn ending stocks to 1.738 billion bushels. Globally, corn stocks were cut by 7.7 million tons to 296.44 million tons.


The January 2025 contract closed at 448.25 cents per bushel, down 0.75 cents, or 0.17%.

Wheat

The Weekly Export Sales report is expected to show 275,000 to 600,000 MT of wheat orders for the 2024/25 marketing year for the week ending December 5, with an additional 0-50,000 MT projected for 2025/26.


The monthly WASDE report indicated U.S. wheat stocks dropped by 20 million bushels to 795 million bushels due to higher total exports. Global wheat stocks increased slightly by 0.31 million tons to 257.88 million tons.


The January 2025 contract closed at 561.75 cents per bushel, up 1.5 cents, or 0.27%.

Soybeans

Export data is expected to show 1.5 to 2.2 million tons of soybeans sold for the 2024/25 marketing year for the week ending December 5, with soybean sales of 0-50,000 tons projected for 2025/26. Soybean meal orders are estimated at 175,000 to 450,000 tons, while soybean oil sales are projected between 5,000 and 100,000 tons.


On Tuesday, the USDA maintained U.S. soybean ending stocks at 470 million bushels. Globally, stocks increased by 0.13 million tons to 131.87 million tons. After the USDA kept Brazil's production estimate at 169 million tons on Tuesday, CONAB is set to release its monthly update on Thursday.


The January 2025 soybean contract closed at 995.5 cents per bushel, up 0.75 cents, or 0.08%.
